Travelling with Urinary Incontinence
Don't stop doing the things you love.
Take a trip, hit the beach, jump into bed and get a restful sleep at the end of a busy day. Bladder weakness shouldn't get in the way of living life to the fullest. There is a range of different products and absorbencies to meet your needs so that you can focus on more than just your urinary incontinence. So say yes to that weekend getaway, beach party, and vacation road trip!
When it comes to travelling, there are a few tips to make your journey a little bit easier so you can get the good night's sleep you deserve.
- Monitor the amount of fluid you drink. It's important to keep track of your fluid intake, especially when you plan to go to bed or get on a plane. This doesn't mean to stop drinking! Not drinking enough can irritate the bladder, so stay hydrated.
- Plan your 'pit stops'. Before embarking on your next road trip, use Google Maps (or a similar app) to find restaurants, gas stations, or shopping malls that would have a bathroom accessible, so you don't have to stress about where to stop next while driving.
- Kegel exercises. A simple but powerful tool to add to your morning routine. A few minutes of pelvic floor exercise daily can reduce the risk of leaks.
